Dorothy Shapiro will go down in history as the oldest bridesmaid after her granddaughter, Jamie Jacobs, chose her to be a maid-of-honour.
Jacobs from Manhattan decided to make her 95-year-old granny a bridal assistant at her wedding when she couldn't narrow down her list of potential bridesmaids so she decided to simplify the process by having just one attendant: her 95-year-old grandma.
Speaking in a New York Times video, Shapiro recounts her experience, saying it was one of the biggest honours ever.
"That was one of the biggest honors that a grandmother could have -- that she chose me, an old lady!" she said.
The nonagenarian was worried that she wouldn't be able to make it down the aisle on the big day, but she pulled it off.
"I did it like a real trouper, and danced" she said.
