Pres. Goodluck Jonathan's New year Message to Nigerians

In 2014, Nigeria learnt a very important lesson in the power of unity as the Ebola Virus Disease brought out the best in us which enabled us defeat one of the worst plagues the world has seen. We were moved by the high ideals of patriotism to come together and work as one. If we can do this to the glory of God and to the forward March of our Nation, we can do it again.

The actress had her house warming party on 31st of December, 2014. And a lot of her colleagues and other entertainers graced the occasion. She had announced before now saying; "This is a big achievement for me, I moved into my own house built with my own money, awesome" and now she’s showing us a bit of what went down yesterday.

A New Year message to Nigeria’s youth from Muhammadu Buhari

As we welcome the year 2015, I have shared a message to Nigerians in general, but I find it crucial to send another message directly to Nigeria’s youth, who are the major stakeholders of this enterprise.

The year 2014 was a challenging one for most citizens of our dear country.

We remember our compatriots who were brutishly killed or maimed by evil terrorists in 2014. I remember with a still broken heart that 219 of our children from Chibok are yet missing, let down by a country that should protect them. I remember that, even as I speak, some of our towns and villages are yet under the occupation of Boko Haram.

Nigerian singer Jodie, who rocked the waves with her ‘Kuchi kuchi’ song once revealed she doesn’t believe in sex before marriage.

In a new interview with Ynaija, the singer re-affirmed her position on sex and virginity, saying :

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan will deliver a new year’s day broadcast to the nation at 07:00 hours tomorrow.

The broadcast will be transmitted on the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN).

Other television and radio stations in the country are advised to link up with NTA and FRCN to relay the broadcast to their viewers and listeners.

If you are a husband or wife reading this, what would be your response to the question, who is your best friend? Surprisingly most people would answer this question by mentioning names which exclude their spouses.

This reminds me of a program in which couples from different continent were asked who their best friend was, and amazingly none of them gave the name of their spouse as the answer. This got me thinking that how can you profess to love someone and yet that person isn't your best friend? It only means that the couples profess to love each other but do not like themselves. It also means there is no friendship in their relationship.

A Chicago teen who sent a letter to Santa asking for 'safety' for Christmas didn't get a response from the big guy in red, but he did hear back from President Barack Obama.

Malik Bryant, a 13-year-old African-American resident of the Illinois city's crime-ridden South Side, penned the note in conjunction with a local charity's Letters to Santa program.

'All I ask for is for safety. I just wanna be safe,' Bryant wrote.

Just few hours more and it will be five years since Adaeze and Joseph Yobo got married. They got married in the midnight of Dec 31, 2010/January 1, 2011 during the “midnight crossover” service at the El-Buba Outreach Ministries International/Evangelical Bible Church in Jos, Plateau State.

The two currently live in Turkey with their son Joey where Joseph Yobo last played for Fc Fenerbahçe. He is currently without a club.

Pres. Jonathan wants you to stop using social media for ‘negative purposes’

President Goodluck Jonathan is not happy with the way people utilize social media.

According to him, the platform is being used to propagate evil, create social discontent and anarchy in the society.

On Tuesday, December 30, while meeting with a delegation of traditional rulers and leaders from Bayelsa, in Abuja, Jonathan said social media has been distorted, and has changed course, from being used for good, to being employed for evil.

Samuel Igbekele, 10, met his untimely death on Saturday when he was about eating that night before a neighbour sent him on an errand.

Reports say she delivered the babies in Owhelogbo community, in the Isoko North Local Government Area of the state.

The children were said to have been born prematurely, after just seven months of pregnancy.

Beji Caid Essebsi, 88, is the new Tunisian president. Essebsi was sworn in today as Tunisia’s first freely elected president. He was the speaker of parliament under President Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali in 2011. He pledged to work towards national reconciliation shortly after taking his oath of office.

Seven suspected Boko Haram terrorists were on Monday killed when an Improvised Explosives Device hidden in a Toyota pick-up van exploded before it could get to Biu Market, suspected to be its destination.

A security source, who spoke on condition of anonymity with PUNCH on the telephone on Tuesday, said:

“A Toyota pick-up van, loaded with maize and beans with IED hidden under them, belonging to Boko Haram insurgents, exploded near Chikwarkir village of Biu, killing
all the occupants of the van.”He said it was believed that the insurgents intended to sneak into Biu Market to detonate the explosives and kill many traders and customers.

2015: Buhari fails to submit academic qualifications to INEC

ABUJA — Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Alhaji Muhammadu Buhari, did not present his academic qualifications to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, even as he prepares for the 2015 presidential contest.

The former Head of State, explained in an affidavit he deposed, which he submitted to the commission that all his academic credentials were with the Secretary, Military Board.Unlike his Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, counterpart, President Goodluck Jonathan, whose academic certificates were conspicously displayed by the commission upon presentation, Buhari’s credentials were visibly without trace at the commission’s office at Area 10, Abuja.
