Chelsea have appointed Dutchman Guus Hiddink as their manager on an interim basis till the end of the season after the exit of Portuguese coach Josè Mourinho.
Hiddink led the club to the 2009 FA Cup triumph in his first spell at the club and will now oversee proceedings till next summer.
Mourinho was fired on Thursday after his Chelsea team suffered their 9th league defeat of the season at Leicester City and are currently in 16th spot with 15 points from 16 games.
Hiddink is an experienced manager having won six Dutch league titles and the European in two separate spells as PSV Eindhoven manager. He has also managed the national teams of Russia, South Korea, Netherlands and Australia in various spells.
The 69-year-old Dutchman has been in London for almost 24 hours, before the two parties finally agreed on terms for him to be in charge till the rest of the season.
