Catholic priests should face criminal charges if they fail to report allegations of child sex abuse disclosed during confession, according to an Australian inquiry.

The measure was among 85 proposed changes published in a report Monday by the Royal Commission Into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.

Woman pregnant with twins six weeks after giving birth, shares experience

An Australian mother has opened on how she felt having found out she was pregnant just six weeks after birthing her first daughter.27-year old Eliza Curby, from Sydney’s northern beaches, went from being a mum of none to a mother of three in 12 months.

“For several weeks, I had felt seriously, seriously exhausted, which I put down to sleep deprivation,” Eliza narrates.
“However, when it continued, I noticed that it was coupled with a familiar feeling… a very familiar feeling. It was the feeling I had when I was pregnant with Charlie.”

A primary school teacher was shot dead in full view of pupils on Monday.The woman, Kate Chiloane, 30, was shot by her husband who later shot himself at their home.

Spokesperson for Mpumalanga department of education, Jasper Zwane, told Mail & Guardian that the husband entered her class on Monday morning after lying that he was fetching something from his wife.

There was a mid drama at an Idi-Ogungun Customary Court, Agodi-Ibadan on Tuesday when a woman, Suriat Adewale, rejected custody of her three children including a 12-month-old baby.

Suriat had protested the decision of the court, granting her custody of the children in a divorce suit instituted by her husband, Suleiman Adewale, saying she had no means of livelihood and would not be able to cater for them. The two other children are aged five and three.

The court did not, however, entertain her plea, a situation which made her to attempt to abandon the kids in court but was prevented.

Earlier, Chief Mukaila Balogun, the president of the court, had dissolved the union and ordered the three kids of the couple to be in the custody of Suriat.

Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno state on Tuesday confirmed that Boko Haram insurgents had killed 31 fishermen at Baga in Kukawa Local Government Area of the state.

Shettima made the confirmation at the presentation of relief materials donated to the state by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to the Internally Displaced Persons in Maiduguri.

He said that the attack indicated that the Boko Haram insurgents were still unleashing terror, killing and maiming people in the Lake Chad Basin.

Shettima however noted that the military and other security agencies were yet to verify the report.

A federal court in Rio de Janeiro sentenced a Brazilian judge to eight years imprisonment on Tuesday for driving confiscated luxury vehicles, local media reported.

Judge Flavio Souza, who was presiding over criminal proceedings against former billionaire Eike Batista, was removed from office in 2015 after he was caught driving Batista’s Porsche Cayenne in Rio.

The judge also kept another luxury car confiscated from Batista in his garage, as well as a piano and several Rolex watches.

The Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, said on Friday that the notorious kidnapper, Chukwudidumeme Onwuamadike, also known as Evans, would be charged to court soon.

The police in Delta State say they have arrested a commercial sex worker who allegedly stabbed her client to death during an argument at Destar Hotel, Asaba, the state capital, on July 18, 2017.

The spokesperson for the police command in the state, DSP Andrew Aniamaka, said on Friday in Asaba that the police responded to a distress call from the hotel after the incident. He said the suspect had been taken into custody. Reports said the deceased was a father of four.

In a statement, Aniamaka said, “A day after the incident, the ‘C Division’ in Asaba carried out preliminary investigation on the case and transferred it to Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department.

Stephen Kigoma was raped during the conflict in his home country, the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Amir Khan appears to have accused fellow British boxer Anthony Joshua of having a relationship with his wife, Faryal Makhdoom Khan, after announcing they are separating in a fiery exchange on Twitter.
