#Tech2015: APC to distribute mobile phones to monitor elections

Opposition party, the All Progressive Congress (APC) has announced its plans to utilize mobile phones as monitoring tools during the 2015 General Elections in February.
The mobile phones will be deployed to over 1130 polling stations in Ogun state’s senatorial districts. According to Dapo Abiodun, APC Senatorial Candidate for Ogun East, the mobile devices will be used to offer real-time communications – election results, situation reports and security status – between polling booths and the party secretariat.

“We are doing this so that the people’s votes would not be undermined by those who want to force themselves on the people and undermine the electoral process,” says Dapo.
