New video has emerged of the deadly confrontation outside a Baton Rouge convenience store that left a Alton Sterling, father-of-5 dead.
The murdered 37 year old was selling music CDs outside the Triple S Food Mart when he was approached by 2 Louisiana police officers early Tuesday morning.
The new video, provided to the Daily Beast by the store owner, Abdul Muflahi, shows officers Blaine Salamoni and Howie Lake II struggling with Sterling who is pinned on the ground.
One cop yelled “He’s got a gun! Gun” followed by the sounds of 4 gunshots.
Sterling, 37, is still alive but he later died from multiple gunshot wounds to the chest.
The video does not show a gun in Sterling’s hand.
One of the cops is seen removing something from Sterling’s right pants pocket.
Salamoni and Lake responded to a 911 call about a man pointing a gun at customers inside the store around 12:30 a.m.
Muflahi told the New York Times the caller was not describing Sterling, his friend of 6 years who was welcome to sell CDs in front of the store.
The U.S. Department of Justice opened an investigation into the shooting today.
Both cops are on paid administrative leave.
