Kidnappers of the former Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF), Chief Olu Falae have reduced the ransom earlier placed on the elder statesman from N100million to N90million.
Falae, who was the Presidential candidate of All Peoples’ Party (APP) in 1999, was abducted on his farmland in Ilado in Akure North local government area of Ondo State by suspected herdsmen on Monday.
Sources from the family disclosed that negotiation is still on between the family and the abductors.
It is not known if the kidnappers allowed Falae to speak with his relations from their den.
When Daily Post visited the residence of the Afenifere chieftain in Akure, on Tuesday, journalists were still barred from talking with his wife, Rachael.
The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mike Ogbodu, who assured the family of rescuing Falae alive, has taken over the investigative team.
This is as sympathizers continue to visit the home of the Falaes.
Some of them include members of the State Assembly, led by speaker, Mrs. Jumoke Akindele and Akure traditional council led by Lisa of Akure, high Chief James Olusoga.
Others are members of Anglican Communion, Falae’s subjects from Ilu-Abo, and politicians.
