Siasia formed NYPF to empower young people, initially those from Bayelsa, by creating jobs and encouraging them to take a more active role in politics and social economic issues. Today, NYPF has amassed a network of young professionals from over 13 countries around the globe, with summits held in London, New York and many other cities. NYPF has a membership of over Ten Million Nigerian young professional between the ages of 18 and 40 and is open to more members from all geo-political zones across Nigeria, including Nigerian young professionals living in Diaspora.
On October 31st, Moses Siasia in collaboration with Chima Anyaso (South East regional Chairman of NYPF) inaugurated the South East NYPF office in Owerri, Imo state.
In attendance was the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, His Excellency Emeka Ihedioha, Aspiring Senator, Dr. Chris Asoluka, and Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of NEPAL Oil and Gas Services Limited, Barrister Ngozi Ekeoma. Over 180 Young Professionals attended the event and registered to become members of NYPF.
Just a few months ago on the 9th of August 2014 in Abuja, Nigeria, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (GCFR) and the Minister of Finance and Economy, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, were both in attendance of NYPF’s International Summit. During this event Mr. President pledged his allegiance to NYPF, he stated
“I think what the youth should do now is to come together and I will support you, and take a bill to the National Assembly to amend some discriminatory provision of the constitution in terms of age.”
Although NYPF is a non-partisan organization, the goal is to produce the YOUNGEST PRESIDENT IN NIGERIA'S HISTORY BY 2019! 60% of Nigeria’s population is made up of young people; therefore, young Nigerians embody the power and right to play a substantial role in Nigeria's political, social and economic sectors.
