1,059 Killed So Far By Boko Haram Since Buhari’s Inauguration- Group

The Executive Director, Stefanos Foundation, Mr. Mark Lipdo, has said no fewer than 1,059 persons were killed in 75 major attacks in northern Nigeria since the inception of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

Stefanos Foundation, a non governmental organisation, has been attending to the welfare of Internally Displaced Persons from the various attacks in their camps in Bukuru area of Jos South, Plateau State.

Lipdo said the highest number of attacks, 34, occurred in Borno State, where 551 people were killed.


Pakistan is planning to execute a paraplegic man by hanging him death while he remains seated in his wheelchair - the first case of its kind in the country.

The Telegraph reports that ,Abdul Basit, 43, was convicted of murder in 2009 but a bout of tuberculosis while detained in Faisalabad Prison the following year which left him paralysed from the waist down.

Following Pakistan's decision to lift its temporary ban on executions in the wake of the Peshawar massacre last December, Basit has moved to the front of the queue to be killed - sparking furious debate over the legal, ethical and even practical implications of his execution.

Court okays probe of Amaechi’s administration by Wike


A Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, yesterday August 20th dismissed the suit filed by former governor of the state, Chibuike Amaechi, challenging the judicial commission of enquiry set up by the incumbent governor, Nyesom Wike to  probe the sale of state assets during Amaechi's administration.At the hearing of the suit filed by Amaechi, the presiding judge, Justice Simeon Amadi, stated that contrary to Amaechi's assumption, the Commission of Enquiry was not established to investigate his personal activities while in government but was set up to investigate activities of his government as it affected the people of the state and that there was no law against a state government probing how her resources was used by a previous administration.

Former US President, Jimmy Carter Announces Cancer Has Spread To His Brain


Former President of the United States of America, Jimmy Carter announced today that doctors had found cancer on his brain and that he would begin radiation treatments later in the day.

During a news conference at the Carter Center, Mr. Carter, 90, said that he had four melanoma spots on his brain and that another cancerous mass had been removed from his liver during a procedure on Aug. 3. He had announced last week that he had cancer, but Thursday’s appearance was the first time that he publicly detailed his condition.

Prune Down The Number Of Policemen Attached To Dignitaries, Buhari Tells IG


President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Sunday Arase, to prune down the number of policemen attached to dignitaries, declaring that all policemen withdrawn from that role be redeployed to regular police duties.

The President also issued a stern warning to the IGP and the Police Service Commission, PSC that he would not tolerate extortion of money from unemployed Nigerians in the forth-coming Police recruitment. The President who noted the practice as an emerging culture said that it was totally unacceptable to him.

Landlady Allegedly Sets Tenant’s Son Ablaze in Ajegunle




Controversy is currently trailing the death of a 22-year-old man, who was allegedly set ablaze by his landlady and her children in the densely-populated Ajegunle area of Lagos.

The deceased, simply identified as Emmanuel, reportedly went to ease himself in the early hours of Tuesday, leaving his father and sister inside their one-room apartment. His sister, who had waited endlessly for his return, went to check on him in the toilet situated at the boys quarters of the building on Alafia Street.

HIV Positive ISIS militants forced to become suicide bombers


ISIS  are getting rid of militants who contracted HIV from captured sex slaves,by forcing them to become suicide bombers.
Medical sources told Kurd news agency ARA News that, at least 16 fighters were diagnosed in al-Mayadeen city in the eastern Syrian province of Deir ez-Zor. 
They are now being held in a quarantine centre after being infected with HIV from two Morrocan women.A civil rights activist said

No record of visa application by ISIS chief -Immigration


The  Comptroller General of Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Mr David Parrandang, has said there was no record of application for visa by the ISIS chief, Ahmed Al Assir, allegedly arrested on his way to Nigeria via Cairo.
Parrandang, reacting to the development on phone with the Nigerian Tribune in Abuja, on Thursday, said he was, however, awaiting the Federal Government’s investigation ordered by President Muhammadu Buhari.
He denied involvement of his officers in the issuance of visa to the radical Muslim cleric, saying Nigeria had no immigration officers in Lebanon in the first place.

Jealous lover sets woman, rival and kids ablaze in Osun(Photo)


The screams of three children, their mother and her lover, who were engulfed by fire on Sunday, August 16 woke up residents of Ajumose, Ogbein area of Ede in Osun State .
It was gathered that the victims were set ablaze by a man, who allegedly felt scorned that his lover was also dating another man.
The five victims were said to be the suspect’s rival, Munirudeen Lawal; the lover, Hadijat Adegoke, and her three children.
Lawal and Adegoke were said to have been rushed to the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, as a result of the burns they suffered.

Students hacked boy with machete,buried him alive and had sex on grave(Photos)

A teenage boy met a brutal death after four students hacked him with a machete and buried him alive.Two attackers then had sex near his shallow grave, police said.
The group plotted the gruesome murder of Jose Amaya Guardado for two weeks, digging the grave and hiding the machete in woods near their Florida university campus.
Kaheem Arbelo, 20, Jonathan Lucas, 18, and Christian Colon, 19, were arrested and confessed to the crime last week, Miami-Dade police said.

The students are believed to have lured Guardado to woods near the Homestead Job Corps campus, where all five lived around 35 miles south of Miami.
Arbelo, Lucas and Colon then allegedly ambushed Guardado and Arbelo struck him repeatedly with the machete.
Strickland "complained that she had missed the first series of machete strikes because she had walked away for a few minutes to urinate in the woods," according to the arrest report
